The International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) and Brazilian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBq) are proud to announce the Young Scientist Forum, which will be held during the 10th IUBMB Conference in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, a joint event with the 36th Annual SBBq Meeting, also sponsored by the Panamerican Association for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (PABMB).
This Forum will offer extensive opportunities for young scientists from all over the world to share and exchange scientific experience, present their work at a high scientific level and interact with international senior scientists. Selected young scientists will have the opportunity to present their findings orally, and will receive substantial financial aid in order to assure their participation in the conference.
Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-doctoral trainees and young researchers under the age of 35 are encouraged to apply for support within the Young Scientist Forum. Young scientists of any nationality and from all fields of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology are eligible.
Successful applicants will receive:
1. Up to US$ 1000 contribution toward travel costs to Salvador
2. Complimentary accommodation during the Conference
3. Free registration
4. An invitation to present their work orally during the Conference
5. An award certificate
Application Procedures
Required Documents:
1. Young Scientist Forum application form
2. An abstract (up to 250 words) of the work to be presented
3. A brief curriculum vitae (not more than three pages)
4. A motivation letter briefly describing the reasons why the applicant would benefit from attending the meeting.
Documents, in doc format, must be by sent to the SBBq office (sbbq@iq.usp.br) by December 21, 2006.
A scientific committee will evaluate applications, and awardees will be notified in January 2007, by e-mail. Scientific merit is a prerequisite for selection. To enable young scientists from many countries to participate, some consideration will also be given to nationality, to the locality where the young scientist is currently working, and to gender.
Please do not submit an abstract to the main conference before the young scientist awardees are announced. The selected young scientists will be automatically registered in the conference. All applicants who are not selected for the young scientist forum will be encouraged to submit their work to the conference after the selection process.

It should be noticed that different kinds of the conferences must be held because every field possess its own value, Now a days climate change pose great thread around the world, so different conferences and workshop should be held for the awareness of the young scientist who likely to be a real environmentalist
