Hey everyone, I hope you all made some time to enjoy the pictures and the videos on the ICSU website. Hopefully we'll get the booth stuff sometime soon.
This meeting was truly a step forward in the promotion of intergenerational exchanges among the scientific community.
While most of the talks focused on trans-disciplinary, trans-national or trans-whatever collaboration, my feeling is that a true "down-to-earth" kind of contact was established with the senior community and that is one of the main points.
During the many coffee breaks of the meeting, collaboration, "getting together", "raising the profile of young scientists", "get involve" were words that were often used. It is a sign that there is a growing need to bring the community of young researchers under the same roof.
More importantly, I think that there is a growing need to involve young researchers in the decision-making process. The Lindau meeting was one step in that direction, and my feeling is that these meetings MUST be organized again within the framework of a young researchers organization, and by bringing high profile senior scientists at the table. Talking is key, let's make some time to do it.

By Hugues LantuitHum, feedback anyone? Having been to several meetings bringing together young scientists and leading to nothing, I was afraid that it would be the same for this one.
I am still convinced that there is room to go bexond this meeting and brainstorm on ways to do it again. How? when? who?
Any idea?
well, i have to admit it...
By hisham.imamwell, i have to admit it... i don't want this meeting to be just in our memories as a past.. i think one foot step leads to the next.
as a beginning, i will start by welcoming current members of this group.. and i can't stop my self from wondering: where are the others??!!! do they know about this group??
we need to meet and discuss moreover to benefit the most of our Lindau gathering..
wishes and regards to all
i also wouldnt want to see
By andyfhi also wouldnt want to see the experience of the meeting fade to memories...
as for the next step - we should try and encourage attendees to join up and at least subscribe to this group - as discussions develop it would hopefully stimulate ideas for the way forward...
maybe we can start with asking what people have done since getting back from the meeting - has anything changed? have you communicated details of the meeting to colleagues? how have you shared what was discussed?
hope all is well with all of you
Dear members of the Coco
By MousDear members of the Coco Loco Working Group,
All attendees of the meeting have received a copy of the latest ICSU Insight newsletter mentioning the existence of this space on the WAYS website. A lot of them may have not read this newsletter and therefore did not find out about this space. A report will soon be published and distributed to all participants of the meeting. It will be an additional opportunity to remind them of the existence of this space. Hopefully many of them will show-up and we'll be able to build on this fabulous momentum we have initiated in Lindau.
With best regards to all of you,
Mustapha.
