Taalim-Forum Public Foundation is organizing Training for Trainers
(ToT) "Basics of Participatory Video" within the framework of
"Place-based education: communities outreach" project supported by the
Christensen Fund (USA). The project is aimed at the strengthening of
capacity of the local communities in comprehensive studying of their
own place of living.
Instructor: Sara Asadullah (Insight, France/UK)
Language: English, Russian. Translation will be provided.
The interactive training is aimed at introducing PV techniques to
future facilitators of local communities' projects. In the result of
the training, participants would be able:
- to obtain basic knowledge and skills to work with video equipment;
- to conduct editing and montage of video footage on a basic level;
- to teach local communities how to use the video equipment (e.g. to
identify and analyze important issues within their communities);
- to find new opportunities for using PV in their professional and
research activities.
Participatory Video (PV) skills can be used as an effective tool in
conducting field research, collection and preservation of traditional
knowledge, for educational purposes and also in drawing attention to
topical issues of the environment and culture.
Faculties, researchers and specialists from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and
Tajikistan are welcome to apply. Experience in the mass media and TV
journalism will be considered as a preference.
