Open Science session at ESOF 2010 is set up for July 4, 15.45-17.00 in room Dublino
This post is simply to announce the Eurodoc session "What would science look like if it were invented today?" at ESOF 2010, scheduled to take place in room Dublino of the Centro Congressi Linotto in Torino at 15.45-17.00 on July 4.
I am adding in a visualization of one of the central points: In the digital era, there is no technical need to aggregate all publishing into one separate step of the research cycle. Instead, it can (and probably would, if science were invented today) in principle be integrated with each step of the cycle, to pump knowledge through it. The session is devoted to discussing the experiences that have been gained so far with such approaches. For further background, see these two blog posts on the matter.
