Funding scientific research
Funding scientific research by young African scientists is a way of giving Africa a place in this fasting-developing scientific age, cum a means of making Africa relevant in the near future!!!
cosby Its very exciting to
cosby
Its very exciting to see that young africans like me are hungry for science. We should join hands and write multi-disciplinary proposals for funding by the donours. I just cant wait for that. God bless the organisers!
cosby
Me as others,I appeciated
Me as others,I appeciated the organizer because, yong scientists can meet together to make a very good think, to discover new area of research able to change Africa
I appreciate the organizers
I appreciate the organizers of WAYS. i believe it will afford me the opportunity to meet great young talented scientists in Africa.
I am a born African
I am a born African harbalist from my family linage.I read Applied Biochemistry in my first degree and Phamacology/toxicology in my masters degree.
It is a great opportunity to work with my fellow young scientists to develope our potentials and talents. It is the God's doing,I am happy to be a member of WAYS
It is a great opportunity
It is a great opportunity for me to be registered under the WAYS website.I believe I will meet young and talented African researchers. As earlier mentioned above, our problem here in Africa is the lack of research funds. So I think one of the main objectives of WAYS should be to connect registered members to international financial aid in research and education in general from funding bodies.
Once more, its my pleasure being part of WAYS!
I feel happy and proud to
I feel happy and proud to join WAYS. I think it is a great opportunity for young scientists to interact and share their research skills, ideas and other valuable information.I concur with Davies that WAYS should look at ways on sourcing the funds fo research. Most of us young scientists are failing to excel in research because of lack of research equipments.
I believe WAYS has come to bring hope to young scientists in developing countries.
I am happy as well to have
I am happy as well to have registered with WAYS. My request again will be to explore ways of sourcing funds to assist young African scientists carry out research. I believe Africa has talented and hard working scientists, their major problem being lack of funds which would assist them procure necessary equipment and other necessities for carrying out research.
Again annual fora where scientists would share the information on research in different areas would be necessary to avoid duplicating efforts as well as to help those to venture into research gain some knowledge.
I believe by registering I will have that opportunity to access latest information on research areas and share my experiences.

Iam happy to have registered
Iam happy to have registered with ways. I request that ways should support the young scientists in the underprivileged universities so that they can carry out reearch because they have alot of ideas but limited due to lack of funds.
It is a great development
It is a great development but like others have said the problem here in Africa and especially Nigeria is a lack of funds for research . We have a great number of research institutions but they are poorly equiped and funded. With proper funding the sky is the limit for research in Africa.
It is true that Africa is
It is true that Africa is facing lack of funds available for scientific research. Now it is a time for international organizations to spend more money than presently, to up rise developments in this region. It is also duty for African scientists to look and search for international organizations to apply for research grants, individually. We should sincerely think about this to solve the difficulties and problems of Africa in this regard.
Sure, commuinity
Sure, commuinity participation in development have only been practised in rhetoric! As scientist and academicians, let's push the politicians to actively engage the 'grassroots'!

It is of great proud for me
It is of great proud for me to be african, the earth of the origin of man kind. My research showed me clearly how Africa is the origin of humanity.

I am happy to have
I am happy to have registered into the WAYS network. It is a wonderful initiative especially for Africa. Through it, significant environmental, economic, social and political progress can be achieved for our continent.A single hand cannot tie a bundle of firewood.Together we can go very far.
I can not agree with Elias
I can not agree with Elias more! But the issue for me, is the availability of research funds for young scientists to undertake researches. I think that as young scientists, we should put more of our efforst towards this line; advocating for our national governments to set up funds for research, which should particularly be aimed at young scientists who are not yet 'established'.
I think Yamga16 has indeed
I think Yamga16 has indeed hit the nail on the head. So long as the research efforts of young scientists, especially in Africa, remains unfunded or at times underfunded, we will continue to scratch the ground for the leftovers from the tables of the established scientists. Even with our lofty and mind evoking research ideas and topics, we cannot move any step forward. WAYS, international donor agents and our governments should please come to our rescue. Tomorrow looks blink!!!
I agree with evelyn
I agree with evelyn absolutely.Finding solutions sustainable to the grassroots is the way to go.Here in Uganda I often see many projects starting with brilliant ideas which do work when the project is still on.But once the project closes it even closes with the intervention. The question is what is the problem?I think the first is how involved are the beneficiaries in making decision.Often not or if they do it is minimally. This explains why they are not sustainable.second is there is an imposing sometimes where locally available resources would suffice. Please for every action you intend to implement at community level let the beneficiaries actively participate.Thank you.

Dear Colliagues, I believe
Dear Colliagues,
I believe it is a very good idea to bring together young African Scientists so that we can learn from one another and explorer the unresearched knowledge. let us join hands and to bring science development in Africa
