This biannual event will be held from Sunday, June 3 to Thursday, June 7, 2007 on the picturesque campus of the Duke University located in the heart of North Carolina.
The National Organic Chemistry Symposium is the premier event sponsored by the Division of Organic Chemistry of the American Chemical Society to highlight recent advances in organic chemistry. The 40th Symposium consists of 13 invited speakers, plus the 2007 Roger Adams Awardee. The lectures will be presented during morning and evening sessions at the elegant Page Auditorium on the Duke University campus. The goal of the symposium is to present a distinguished roster of speakers that represents the current status of the field of organic chemistry, in terms of breadth and creative advances.
The poster sessions have greatly increased in popularity and impact in recent years, with more than 400 contributions at each of the last two meetings. The poster presentations will take place in the evenings (Sunday to Wednesday) from approximately 9:00 pm – 12:00 am. In keeping with tradition, there will also be a conference barbeque that will be open to all registered attendees and guests on Wednesday evening.
The Raleigh/Durham area offers many recreational opportunities for everyone’s taste. The Conference Services at Duke University have arranged extracurricular activities during and after the symposium, so you may visit and enjoy many of these attractions.
The excellent location and outstanding program will make the 2007 NOS a meeting that you simply must attend to garner an appreciation for the hottest work being carried out in Organic Chemistry!! We very much look forward to seeing y’all in June 2007.
