Location

The 1st Annual Congress of the Federation of African Societies of Chemistry (FASC) will be held on 12 and 13 September 2007 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The theme of the Congress is Chemistry for Sustainable Development in Africa, with focus areas on Green Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Food Chemistry, and Industrial Chemistry. The Congress is to be held on just the second day of the Ethiopian Millennium. No one imagines celebrating two millenniums in his/her life, but FASC will make it a reality for you. An additional professional experience planned at the same occasion is the 20th anniversary of the Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia (BCSE), one of the few reputable journals of chemistry in Africa. The main purpose of the 20th anniversary of BCSE is to improve cooperation among people and organizations interested and involved in scientific publication and to share views to provide high quality scientific publication in Africa. Selected high quality papers presented at the 1st annual Congress of FASC will be published in a special issue of BCSE, after they are peer-reviewed.
