English essential
Education
Ph.D. from a recognized university (or nearing completion of Ph.D.) in Nuclear Engineering or another field relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience
Experience at the university level in a field related to the duties of the position.

o Industrial or postdoctoral experience in the nuclear field or in a related field.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Reliability Status. This factor is not used at the preselection stage. The hiring department is responsible for the security clearance process.

Applicants who meet the above criteria will also be assessed against the Statement of Merit Criteria for this position.
Challenge
The candidate is expected to supervise M.A.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and professional and technical research staff.
This position can lead to a permanent position as assistant professor or a more senior level.
Current activity in the nuclear field includes: nuclear fuel engineering, nuclear fuel management, nuclear reactor materials, novel techniques of radiation dosimetry, reactor instrumentation and control, nuclear reactor design, non-destructive testing, neutron activation analysis and radiochemistry, nuclear counter-terrorism, radiological contamination and remediation, and nuclear waste management. The Department operates a SLOWPOKE-2 nuclear research reactor.
