UNESCO’s free Open Access Curriculum / Self-Directional Learning for young researchers is online!
UNESCO launched a curriculum with self-directional learning (SDL) modules on Open Access (OA) especially for young and early-career researchers (but also for librarians and senior scientists). The OA modules are free to download and can be found here or via the UNESDOC database and is translated in several languages.
The curriculum is titled "Open access for researchers" and addresses OA issues that are important to both researchers and science as a whole (especially in the future). For example, the modules cover Scholarly Communications, Concepts of Openness and Open Access, Intellectual Property Rights and Research Evaluation Metrics. The fifth module "Sharing your Work in Open Access" is a step-wise guide on how and where to publishing your research Open Access, something that will be vital for any future career in science.
Great resource! I recommend everybody to take a look.
