Gathering more than 200 young researchers throughout the world, the Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN) is the main resource for young researchers involved in permafrost research. It is an international collaborative effort from students and researchers.
PYRN maintains a website, publishes a monthly newsletter, provides info on jobs, fellowships and conferences in the field of permafrost research and maintains a database on theses published in the field of permafrost studies.
It is also strongly involved in the organisation of the International Polar Year (2007-2008) and other polar-related organisations
