A position as postdoctoral fellow in the area of bioinorganic chemistry is open in the group of Prof. Yoshihito Watanabe in the Department of Chemistry at Nagoya University.

Period: 2008 Apr.-2009 Mar. Extension of additional one year is possible.

Field: Construction of artificial metalloproteins and metalloenzymes. Recent examples of our results are 1) introduction of P450, peroxidase, and catalase activities into myoglobin by designing the heme cavity of myoglobin. 2) Introduction of synthetic metal cofactors at the position of heme in myoglobin and its mutants. 3) Use of ferritin for the construction of unique nano-cluster in the protein cage; a very new approach for the construction of organomatalloenzymes.

Salary: Approximately 4,000,000JPY per year.
