why Indian Engineers rare in research?
Now a days in India,Engineering Study is passion among teenagers affter completing Plus two level Education.Number of Engineering Colleges is rising year by year and students choosing Engineering profession is nearly one lakh per year in India.A tendency for students despite of gender to choose various specialization in Engineering subjects,but affter completing Bachelors or Masters in Engineering they may gather here and there for Jobs.Plenty of Engineering job opportunities have attracted students to choose Engineering.Plenty of researchers with Indian orgin was there,but less number of researchers have been comming out from Indian soil.
Reasons.
*Lot of the students affter passing out rush to enter any jobs and get Expirence
*Female students will marry affter bachelors or masters and adjust with family
*Some think that they can do better performance if going abroad.
In my opinion India is a land with plenty of opportunities for Engineering research.If a person can adjust the limitations of motherland and work hard,he/she can give better results

Dear Rogen,
It is fine that Indian Engineers are lagging in research...but I would like to mention ,they do have good brains.
The research depends on many parameters,it requires sincere effort,hardwork,dedication and knowledge transfer,which are required to blended with positive attitude and good script writing process.
It also requires the facilities to learn the concepts and strong literature base of international level.
The experimental design, setup and conduction also requires more comprehensive approach to proceed further.
Finally,the research supervisors role comes into picture,do they really intreseted in providing the research guidance?
We really do not follow the reasrch base as Indian academia is based on "spoon feeding" not on try and learn with ur mistakes..
However,it is still important to recall those days when ancient India was known for its rich & innovative concepts with sound research base (even we heard about Puspak vimana in Ramayana,Bramahastra in Vedas,Art of living in Gita, the Harappa and Mohenjodaro era, constuction of Strong Killas etc.)
Present Engineering graduates only learn BOOKI parts, doesnot wants to implement it,how reaserch
base will develope?They have to participate in conferences,workshop and symposiams to learn the research fundas,at both national and international veneues...
Many more things can be added,but I think it is good to stop here..."JUST THINK".

You are right Dhanesh.Eventhough india is developing in scientific technology government doesnt create opportunities here.If they give little support (financially or materials)for researches then only India can grow.Engineering colleges rising every year like mushroom & normal students choose professional engineering degree than ordinary degree;Affter completion of course they are tensed how to pay back bank loans.Ordinary students can dream only higher studies in there mind

You say Indian students should better in theoretical knowledge.But in order to get practical knowledge lagging of research materials & financial crisis does not allow them.Most of the seminars and all taken place in technical fest & conference are repetitive.I agree they will be better by participating in international conference and all;But who will give financial support for ordinary students coming from rural backgrounds?
Science Graduates in India
India is producing Science graduates per year at a rate which is more than 250 times the govt. is creating a vacancy for the same. But the Govt. has one big formula to save his face, govt. is hiring M.Sc and B.Sc students as Project staff. This project staff is temporary with lesser salary paid ( A permanent peon gets paid two times more than a project Assistant) and total 6 casual leaves through whole year.
