The last people of India live in rural areas with no assess to the healthcare sector of the modern India. We need structural reforms in the healthcare sector to improve delivery of services at the grassroot level and help the underpriviledged access for facilites. It is widely felt that the poor and underpriviledged sections of our population do not have access to healthcare system. It has to be more sensitive to the needs of women and children. “Hospital-centered approach” has proved to be “excessively-costly” even in advanced foreign countries. A more balanced approach will be to lay due emphasis on preventive health care.
