Bio

I’m a PhD student in the Cellular and Molecular Biology Department at the University of Sciences and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB), Algiers- Algeria. I received my Master degree in Biochemistry- Immunology from USTHB, Algiers. Actually, I’m a member of "Cytokines and NOSynthases" research group directed by Pr. Touil - Boukoffa C. The aim of our project is about the implication of cytokines and nitric oxide in immunological responses in infectious diseases: hydatidosis. This parasitosis constitutes a serious public health problem in various parts of the world, particularly in Algeria. Furthermore, we wished to clarify the parasite’s strategies evasion. These studies will provide useful tools for development of therapeutic strategies. Recently, we have highlighted an evident role of IFN-γ/NO in parasite killing in vitro. Moreover, IL-10 and IL-4 production seems to be an evasive mechanism taken by the parasite to establish in the host (Amri et al., 2007, 2009 & 2010).
